Introduction

As one of the greatest batsmen of all time, Sachin Tendulkar is an Indian cricketer who is now retired. He is also the most prolific run-scorer in international cricket. Tendulkar has amassed the greatest amount of centuries (100 runs or more) in International Cricket Council-sanctioned Test matches and One Day International(ODI) contests.

With 51 hundreds in Test matches, he holds the record for most centuries by a batsman worldwide. In ODI matches, he has amassed 49 centuries, which is second only to Virat Kohli’s total. When he scored 114 against Bangladesh in March 2012, he became the first and only cricket player to score 100 international hundreds.

Tendulkar made his Test debut in 1989 and went on to score his first century in 1990 at Old Trafford, Manchester, against England, with 119 not out.

Sachin Tendulkar Achievements

Tendulkar is the second batter to score 150 against every Test-playing nation, and he has made hundreds against all of them. With the exception of Zimbabwe, he has struck a century on at least one cricket ground across all Test-playing nations. In October 2010, Tendulkar hit his 20th 150-plus score against Australia in Bangalore, surpassing the record held by Brian Lara with 19 hits. In 2004, he achieved his greatest score at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, as he scored 248 not out against Bangladesh.

Tendulkar has amassed six double hundreds and has 15 wins in a row. He has scored hundreds of runs at thirty different cricket fields, 27 of which have come from locations outside of India. Tendulkar has been out of the game nine times with scores ranging from 90 to 99.

Despite making his ODI debut in 1989, Tendulkar needed five years to score his first century in the format. In the third Singer World Series game at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo in September 1994, he scored 110 against Australia.

Tendulkar has amassed hundreds in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against 11 different opponents. Against every cricketing nation with permanent One Day International status, he has amassed hundreds of runs. In the 2010 match at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior against South Africa, he became the first batsman to hit a double century in one-day internationals.

In India, he has amassed 19 ODI hundreds, as opposed to 30 in foreign or neutral grounds. At the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, seven of these century were scored. Between the scores of 80 and 89, and between 90 and 99, he was fired 18 times and 17 times, respectively.
